This topic describes Master Data Services features that are no longer available in SQL Server.
SQL Server Discontinued Features
The SQL Server 2008 R2 (10.50.x) staging process is removed in SQL Server. You should use the entity based staging process to import and modify data. For more information, see Overview: Importing Data from Tables (Master Data Services).
The Metadata model is no longer available. You can also no longer view metadata in the Explorer functional area.
