Modify a Job

You can modify the properties of jobs in the CCS job queue, and modify jobs saved as a template.

To modify a job

  1. Navigate to the Job Properties property sheet for the job. To do this:

    • If modifying a job template, in Job Manager, click File, then Submit with template…. The Job Properties property sheet is displayed.

    • If modifying a queued job, double-click the job or right-click and select Properties. The Job Properties property sheet is displayed.

  2. You can modify any job property including job and project names, job priority, licenses, and even update tasks. To modify the properties, select the appropriate tabs on the Job Properties property sheet and enter a value as appropriate.

  3. If you are modifying a job template, click Submit to place the modified job in the job queue. If you are modifying a queued job, click OK to update the job properties. In either case, you have the option to save the modified job as a template before submission or update.

For jobs in the Queued state, all modified terms take effect immediately. For jobs in the Running state, only changes to the following options take effect immediately:

  • /runtime:

  • /rununtilcanceled:

  • /projectname:

The following modified terms will not take effect unless and until the job is requeued:

  • /jobname:

  • /numprocessors:

  • /askednodes:

  • /priority:

  • /license:

  • /exclusive:

If /numprocessors: is specified at both the job and task levels, the values for the job must be a superset of the values for the tasks.

If /runtime: is specified at both the job and task levels, the job run time must be equal to or greater than the longest task run time.
