The ATI sample display driver supports a mixture of software and hardware acceleration. The ATI sample driver is a GPE-based driver. In addition, the ATI sample display driver supports color depths of 8, 16, 24, and 32 bpp. This driver has only been tested at a resolution of 800x600 and a color depth of 16 bits.
