The following are the Hyper-V WMI classes.
In this section
Topic | Description |
---|---|
CIM Classes |
CIM classes are the base classes that the WMI classes are based on. While not directly used by the Hyper-V WMI provider, they provide much of the infrastructure that the implemented classes use. |
BIOS Classes |
The virtual BIOS is a software image that is loaded into RAM to configure some of the basic aspects of and boot a computer system. There is one BIOS element per computer system and that element cannot be replaced or removed. |
Input Classes |
The user input devices are represented by these classes. A virtual system always has one instance of each class associated with it. |
Integration Services Classes |
Integration services are software services that run on top of the guest operating system inside of a child virtual machine (VM) and as part of the virtualization stack in the management operating system to provide some level of integration with the management operating system. |
Memory Classes |
The memory classes model the memory for a virtual system. |
Networking Classes |
The networking architecture for virtualization models the physical networking architecture. It uses standard networking objects such as switches, switch ports, and network adapters. |
Processor Classes |
The processor classes model a processor for a virtual system. |
Profile Registration Classes |
Virtualization WMI classes related to profile registration. |
RemoteFX Classes |
The RemoteFX virtualization WMI classes are used to manage RemoteFX resources and virtual machines. |
Resource Management Classes |
Virtualization WMI classes related to resource management. |
Serial Devices Classes |
The serial devices in a virtual machine consist of serial controllers and serial ports. Each virtual system has exactly one serial controller, and each serial controller has exactly two serial ports. |
Storage Classes |
The storage objects are separated into three types: controllers, drives, and media. |
Video Classes |
All virtual machines reflect the presence of an emulated S3 video controller and an accelerated, synthetic video controller. |
Virtual System Classes |
Virtualization WMI classes related to the virtual system. |
Virtual System Management Classes |
Virtualization WMI classes related to virtual system management. |
