The specified registry path does not begin with a valid hive name. Valid hive names are:

  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT

  • HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER

  • HKEY_DYNDATA

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

  • HKEY_PERFORMANCE_DATA

  • HKEY_USERS

To correct this error

  • Verify that you are supplying a valid hive name.
