Position of the first instance of a substring.
Syntax
FIND(string, substring)
string |
Specifies the string that contains the substring for which to search. |
substring |
Specifies the substring to locate. |
Remarks
- If the string is not found, a zero is returned.
Example
Formula | Result |
---|---|
FIND("A light yet stiff aluminum bar for long distance riding.", "aluminum bar") |
Returns the number of character spaces within the string that the substring begins. In this example, 19. |
FIND(Description, "aluminum") |
Returns a list of values that indicates the number of character spaces within the string that the substring begins, similar to the following: 10 19 0 |
