.NET Framework 4 Built-In Activity Library

This topic applies to Windows Workflow Foundation 4 (WF4).

.NET Framework version 4 includes a new activity library with expanded functionality. The types of activities include the following:

• Control Flow Activities in WF

• Flowchart Activities in WF

• State Machine Activities in WF

• Messaging Activities

• Runtime Activities in WF

• Primitives Activities in WF

• Transaction Activities in WF

• Collection Activities in WF

• Error Handling Activities in WF

• Migration Activity in WF

The activites in the built-in activity library can be composed into workflows, or used alongside custom activities. The activities in the built-in activity library are sealed; they are not intended to be used to create new functionality through inheritance.
