MPI_Pack_external_size function

Returns the upper bound on the amount of space needed to pack a message using MPI_Pack_external.

Syntax

int MPIAPI MPI_Pack_external_size(
        _In_z_ char  *datarep,
        int          incount,
        MPI_Datatype datatype,
  _Out_ MPI_Aint     *size
);

Parameters

  • datarep
    Data representation.

  • incount
    Number of input data items.

  • datatype
    Datatype of each input data item.

  • size [out]
    Output buffer size, in bytes.

Return value

Returns MPI_SUCCESS on success. Otherwise, the return value is an error code.

In Fortran, the return value is stored in the IERROR parameter.
