Create a new deployment object.

This API is available in the following national cloud deployments.

Permissions

Choose the permission or permissions marked as least privileged for this API. Use a higher privileged permission or permissions only if your app requires it. For details about delegated and application permissions, see Permission types. To learn more about these permissions, see the permissions reference.

Important

In delegated scenarios with work or school accounts, the signed-in user must be an owner or member of the group or be assigned a supported Microsoft Entra role or a custom role with a supported role permission. Intune Administrator, or Windows Update Deployment Administrator are the least privileged roles supported for this operation.

Request headers

Name	Description
Authorization	Bearer {token}. Required. Learn more about authentication and authorization.
Content-Type	application/json. Required.

Request body

In the request body, supply a JSON representation of the deployment object.

The following table lists the properties that are required when you create the deployment.

audience	microsoft.graph.windowsUpdates.deploymentAudience	Specifies the audience to target.
content	microsoft.graph.windowsUpdates.deployableContent	Specifies what content to deploy. Deployable content should be provided as one of the following derived types: catalogContent.

Response

If successful, this method returns a 201 Created response code and a deployment object in the response body.
