I am trying to transfer my domain hosting and registration from Dataczar.com to my Azure account.

Hi. I am trying to transfer my domain registration and hosting from Dataczar.com to my Azure account. Dataczar sent to me the A record and CNAME record. I see the new A record, but where do I enter the CNAME record, and what is it called in Azure. Also, I am trying to create a domain hosting service, but I get an error message,"The subscription 9016dee0-6d09-4152-8888-06376d002747 is not eligible to create an App Service Domain."

I tried creating a custom domain with no luck. Copilot was trying to guide and then troubleshoot, without success.

I have my resource group set up. Maybe I did not set it up correctly. Azure does not use the same terms I am used to. So I asked Copilot and it keeps repeating the same thing over and over again. But I do not see the place where I am supposed to enter the CNAME record.

And what is "child tag"?

Hosting and domain registration are two separate operations.

To use a custom domain name in azure, you first buy the domain name, which you appear to have done. Then via the domain tools the vendor you brought domain from you fill in cname and txt records as required by azure. When you specify the custom domain in azure it will do a dns lookup to verify you domain entries are correct. If, not you go back to domain register tools and correct. It can take a couple hours for yours dns changes to propagate.

note: azure supports domain delegation, where you can use their dns hosting tools. This does require your dns register gives you access to the name server record.

A record: Your domain indicates at an IP address (eg, yourdomain.com).CNAME Record: A subdomain (eg www.yourdomain.com) pointed to another domain name (egerapp.azurewebsites.net).

Go to Azure portal: https://portal.azure.com

Azure DNS or navigate on your app service> custom domain.

If you are managing DNS from Azure:Go to your DNS zone (if you do not exist yet, you may have to make one).In DNS zone, click "+ record set".For CNAME records:Name: Enter the subdomain like WWW.Type: Select CNAME.Nickname: Enter the value given by dataczar, such as yapp.azurewebsites.net and then Save
Add a DNS record
"Membership [ID] is not eligible to create an app service domain."Instead of trying to buy a domain through Azure (you do not need because your domain is already with Dataczar), you just need to map your existing domain for your Azure service.

So leave the app service domain part - you already have your domain. You only need to link it.

If the custom domain setup is not working, make sure:You have the DNS settings of your domain (DANS panels of Dataczar or Azure DNS have the right A and CNAME records, depending on who is the management of your DNS).
You are using Azure App Service> Custom Domain and validate ownership: Using a txt record, or

Creating A/CNAME records as instructions. If Azure cannot verify your domain, it is usually a DNS spread issue (it may take up to 24–48 hours).
