Need Help Restoring Deleted APIM Instance After Soft-Delete Period

Hi Team,

I accidentally deleted my Azure API Management (APIM) instance. When I attempted to restore it, I received an error stating that the API service does not exist—likely because it's past the soft-delete retention period.

Fortunately, I still have the full metadata and configuration details for the deleted APIM instance. Is there any way to restore or recreate the APIM service using this metadata, even though the original resource is no longer available in soft-delete?

Any guidance or recommended steps would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Unfortunately you can't. If you are unable to Recover it.

Then you will have to recreate your instance again from scratch, recommend Infrastructure as Code here, to essentially be able to create the instance again from scratch. If soft-delete period has ended, then you would need to recreate the APIM instance from scratch.
