Azure VM Restore Point for Server 2025

Hi All,

When creating a restore point for a VM in Azure that contains Server 2025, it fails. Is there a reason why this happens? All other VMs that do not have server 2025 are successful. Your response is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for your post on Q/A.

Azure restore points may fail on Windows Server 2025 VMs because Server 2025 is still in preview and not fully supported by Azure Backup or restore point services yet. Compatibility issues with the OS and VM agents can cause the failure.

As suggested by @Hamid Sadeghpour Saleh

Below are the supported metrics for Azure VM Restore Points. Currently,2025 OS is not supported. User's image
