Convert Standard storage to premium

Could you Please share more information about Converting Standard storage to premium? Upgrading from standard to premium storage can significantly improve performance, especially if you are experiencing slow processing with your current hard disk.

Create a Premium Storage Account: You need to create a new premium storage account since you can't directly convert a standard storage account to a premium one

Use tools like AzCopy, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Site Recovery to migrate your data from the standard storage account to the new premium storage account, if you're using Azure VMs, you may need to stop and deallocate the VM, then attach the new premium disks to it.

Ensure all data has been successfully migrated and is functioning correctly. Once verified, you can delete the old standard storage account to avoid unnecessary costs

I don't have any VM installed. i Installed normal storage hot from Azure which is very slow. We are working on CAD and Revit files and i need to convert it SSD for fast performance. I don't need to transfer any storage delete my previous storage plan and add SSD storage. Please i need step by step answer. Thank you Sir....

I Suggest few steps to delete your current standard storage account and create a new premium SSD storage account in Azure:

Delete Your Current Standard Storage Account

Log in to the Azure Portal: Go to Azure Portal and log in with your credentials.

Navigate to Storage Accounts: In the left-hand menu, select "Storage accounts" to see a list of your storage accounts.

Select the Storage Account: Click on the storage account you want to delete.

Delete the Storage Account:

• In the storage account overview, click on the "Delete" button at the top.
• Confirm the deletion by typing the storage account name and clicking "Delete" again.

Step 2: Create a New Premium SSD Storage Account

Create a New Storage Account:

• In the Azure Portal, click on "Create a resource" in the left-hand menu.
• Search for "Storage account" and select it.
• Click on "Create" to start the creation process.

Configure the Storage Account:

• Subscription: Select your subscription.
• Resource Group: Choose an existing resource group or create a new one.
• Storage Account Name: Enter a unique name for your storage account.
• Region: Select the region closest to your users.
• Performance: Choose "Premium".
• Account Kind: Select "BlockBlobStorage" for blob storage or "FileStorage" for file shares.
• Replication: Choose the replication option that suits your needs (e.g., LRS, ZRS).

Review and Create:

• Click on "Review + create".
• Review your settings and click "Create" to deploy the storage account.

Step 3: Verify and Use Your New Premium SSD Storage

Navigate to Your New Storage Account: Once the deployment is complete, go to "Storage accounts" and select your new premium SSD storage account.

You can now start uploading your CAD and Revit files to this new storage account for better performance.
