I was moving folders in Outlook For Mac from On My Computer to my local Inbox. I started getting a sync error and read that deleting my account then re-installing it would likely remove the error. It did but I now have no mail, no rules, nothing from my business for the last 12 +yrs. . I am using Outlook for Mac 16.98 with Sequoia 15.4.1 on Macbook Air 2023. Feeling a bit put out by this so hoping someone can help :)

    Hi @B Veghte ,

Based on your description, you encountered synchronization errors while migrating folders in Outlook for Mac and deleting/reconfiguring the account resulted in the loss of historical emails and rules.

Here are potential causes and solutions:

1.Check for Local Outlook Data Backup

    • Outlook for Mac sometimes stores cached data in:
      • ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles/
      • Look for .olm backups (File > Export in Outlook may help if data still exists).

    2.Recover from Server (IMAP/Exchange)

    • If you were using IMAP/Exchange, check:
      • Webmail (Outlook Web Access, Gmail, etc.) – Some emails may still be there.
