Description:
We have implemented Azure Speech to Text API in our Angular application for microphone functionality. Users are experiencing significant lag in API responses after the application has been running for approximately 10-15 minutes. The lag varies depending on device specifications and browser compatibility. Despite multiple troubleshooting attempts, we have been unable to resolve this issue. This is causing significant user experience problems in our production environment.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
- Tried to clear subscriptions and recognized and finalized the text subscriptions and tried to restart the service by cleared SDK and reloading
- After every response we are restarting the service
- Tried to reduce the heap memory by clearing the subscriptions in the components
Technical Details:
- Angular Version: 15
- Azure Speech SDK Version: 1.42.0
- Affected Browsers: All browsers mainly Chrome we are using
- Device Types: Alienware, Dell, HP etc..,
Requested Priority:
High - This issue is affecting production users and requires immediate attention.

We have taken above troubleshooting steps and no luck,

This lag likely due to resource leaks within the Azure Speech SDK session lifecycle in your app. This can cause memory bloat or WebSocket saturation, especially in long-running sessions.
try Using
recognizer.close()andrecognizer = nullafter each session ends. Just clearing subscriptions isn’t enough.Avoid reinitializing the SDK on every response. Instead, create and reuse a single recognizer instance for a defined session window, then reset it completely after use.
Update to the latest SDK (1.43.x) if available and Use batch recognition mode instead of continuous mode if real-time feedback isn’t mandatory.
