Will exporting the activity logs differs from the resource group level and the resource level?

My Scenario is I want to store the 90 days activity logs of the every resource in the resource group into the azure storage account or local system storage. I have plenty of resources such as App Services (20), SQL databases (6), function apps (3), storage accounts (6), etc. So, Instead of downloading / exporting the activity logs on each resource level which involves time taking process, If i download from the resource group level, will i get all the resource level logs also?

    Hi @Rajoli Hari Krishna

By default, Azure retains Activity Logs for 90 days. If you need to retain them longer, you can export the logs to a Storage Account, Event Hub, or Log Analytics Workspace.

Yes — when exporting or downloading activity logs at the resource group level, the export includes activity logs for all resources within that group. There's no need to export logs individually for each resource.

    To export:

    1. Navigate to the Resource Group.
    2. Select Activity Log.
    3. Click on the Export Activity Logs button.
    4. Choose your desired export destination (e.g., Storage Account in your case).

If you want to retain logs without incurring additional costs, consider configuring azure storage account lifecycle management policy to either delete or archive logs that are older than your preferred retention period. Refer to link below
