Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. Recently, an issue has been encountered where many devices in the list of Windows devices show their device ID instead of their names. The devices are Entra ID Hybrid joined and involve Co-Management. Here is an example of the problem that persists
As seen above the device name should be shown. However, when checking upon the Entra ID list of devices for these types of entries, we obtain the device name corresponding to its ID. What might be the issue behind this behavior?

How long have they remained in that state? Normally the correct name updates on next check-in.
@Rahul Jindal [MVP] Dear Rahul, I hope you are well! I am unsure of the timespan in which these devices had remained in the state mentioned above. We had just recently identified these issues.
@Rahul Jindal [MVP] The same thing has happened with somewhat personal devices (Entra ID registered managed by Intune). Could this be because of sync issues and if so how to adjust future enrollments?
Personal devices cannot be co-managed, and since you can’t control the naming convention of these devices, they can sometimes end up with weird names. As for Co-managed, are they devices Entra hybrid joined correctly and reporting to Entra ID?
Regarding personal devices, I am already aware that they have nothing to do with Co-Management nor being Entra ID Hybrid Joined but some personal devices appeared as well in a weird format in the list (e.g. john.doe_Windows_4/28/2025_12:20 PM). As for the hybrid joined devices, when we search by the device ID indicated as the one above, we obtain the correct name of the device in the Entra ID records. Thank you!
