Attaching Links to External SharePoint Sites in Microsoft Project for the Web

You can attach links to documents in Microsoft Project for the Web task details that point to external SharePoint sites (not associated with the Microsoft 365 Group tied to the project).

In Project for the Web:

1. Open your project.
2. Select a task and click Details (or open the task pane).
3. Insert a hyperlink to the SharePoint document (e.g., https://yourtenant.sharepoint.com/sites/externalsite/Shared%20Documents/file.docx).

Links will work only if users have access to the external SharePoint site/document. Ensure all task assignees have at least Read access to the linked SharePoint site.
