Hi Matt Newboult, ,
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm glad to hear that using the WordPress instance without Entra worked well for you, and that you were able to access phpMyAdmin with the provided username and password. For simple, hobbyist websites, a straightforward setup like this can definitely be more efficient and less cumbersome than integrating Entra, which is geared toward larger and more security-intensive environments.
It's great to see that the direct approach—despite the extra step of manually copying the password—delivers the desired outcome without the complexity that Entra introduces. Your feedback is very valuable for others who might be setting up similar environments and are looking for a simpler alternative.

Issue:I have a working Wordpress installation connecting to mySql. I have phpmyAdmin but cannot find the password. Where is it in the portal? I can't reset it because then wordpress won't work. I have looked everywhere for it and can't find it and it didn't tell me what the password was during the installation. I don't want to connect to it using an external tool - I only want to use the deployed phpmyadmin porta
Solution:
this below worked for me.
I installed the Wordpress instance without Entra and it gave me a username and password. When I copied the password correctly (Azure doesn't let you copy it) phpMyAdmin worked. This is definitely the way to use the Wordpress installation with phpMyAdmin. Using Entra seems overkill for a simple hobbyists website.
