Software Inventory column freeze in "Discovery in Progress" - Azure Migrate with appliance -

I'm testing Azure Migrate, to get VM/Instances performance statistics and get dependency analysis between servers discovered by the Azure Appliance.

I have installed the Azure appliance in a AWS instance with the prerequisite characteristic, all went fine (almost @ 90%), i was able to access the other instances i created for the test (windows & Linux). When i started the discovery from the appliance, it's seems that it was good from the appliance side!

As the documentation informed me, it could took up to 24h to have the information showing up in the Azure migrate console. I waited for 24h, then i see that in the column "Software Inventory" the status was freeze in "Discovery in Progress", in the column "Dependencies (Agentless)" the status was freeze in "Validation in progress" !!!

I'm not able to initiate a dependency analysis as the status is still in Validation !

Any one can give me any clue on this ;)

Kindly appreciate :)

    Hi G. Patterson

    Thank you for your patience

For physical servers, if you want to know installed software or discover dependencies, you need to install the Dependency agent.

For VMware servers in your environment, if you provide credentials, the software inventory will be collected automatically without needing to install the Dependency Agent on each server.

Please refer to the Microsoft article below for details.
