Cannot Delete VPN Gateway (Zombie VPN Gateway)

Hi Dillon,

This definitely requires a backend support as you have verified that all the dependencies are deleted or not visible, sometimes it takes time to reflect on the portal. I see you have already tried AZ CLI as I was about to suggest that next option.

Thanks for your answer.

Our support plan does not allow me to log a support ticket. I can only use Q&A, however, this issue is not an issue of technical understanding but rather an issue on Azure's side.

I don't want to pay $100 just to log a support ticket for a defect on Azure's side so I am not really sure what I can do at this point.

• Could you please check if the VPN gateway is in a failed state? If it is, try using the Get/Set commands to restore the VPN gateway to a successful state.

• In the meantime, is your subscription in a disabled state? If so, please try to enable it.

• Yes the VPN Gateway is in a failed state and I have attempted to use the Get/Set commands to restore it to a successful state. It runs for around 30 minutes and then enters a failed state again with the same error I get when trying to delete it.
• My subscription is in an active state without any issues

I also contacted support over the phone and they logged a ticket for me. A VPN support member then contacted me and we were not able to delete the VPN Gateway using any methods from my side. They agree the issue is on Azure's side and told me that I have to upgrade my support plan to log a ticket from my subscription to have someone look at the issue.

So at this point it seems like I have to pay for an upgraded support plan just to notify Azure of an issue with their software. Very frustrating.
