I want to Enable Multifactor Authentication on my account. I have a Free License. I previously had MFA enabled for my account but after I changed my phone I am not able to re-enable it.

    Hello @Mayank Shah,

Based on your description, it seems you require assistance in resetting your MFA details. You can reach out to your Global Admin to reset your MFA information.

To reset MFA from Entra Portal, below are the steps.

    1. Go to entra.microsoft.com
    2. Navigate to:

Users → Search for the user → Click on the user's name.

    1. On the left menu, click Authentication methods.
    2. Click "Require re-register multifactor authentication".

This will present user to perform fresh MFA registration.

To reset MFA from Admin center, below are the steps.

    1. Go to https://admin.microsoft.com
    2. Users -> Active users -> Click the user
    3. Click Manage multifactor authentication under Authentication methods
    4. On the classic MFA portal page:

Find the user -> Click Manage user settings -> Check the box for Require selected users to provide contact methods again -> Click Save

This will present user to perform fresh MFA registration.

If you have any question or query, please do let us know.

    Try https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info

If it asks for MFA but you can’t approve it on your old device, the you need to request assistance from your glbal admin, which can be your IT admin. Ask Admin to Reset MFA (If You’re in an Org)

    They can do this by:

    Going to https://entra.microsoft.com/

    1. Navigate to: Users > Your Account > Authentication Methods
    2. Click “Require re-register MFA”
    3. Save

    Regards,

    Abiola
