Unable to delete an existing managed application

I have been testing a managed application offer that I am helping to author. In the last day it has been behaving strangely, I find that most of the time I can't deploy a new application because it says the resource group it has created does not exist.

What's worse, is that I now have a situation where my subscription where I test deployments has a resource group that can't be deleted. I have already clicked "delete" on the corresponding managed application which manages this resource group some hours ago. When I go to the resource group and click on the "Managed By" link, it gives me a 404 error saying that resource doesn't exist.

This is bad - I have resources deployed in my subscription which I continue to pay for but I can't remove. How can I resolve this?
