Windows 11 unauthenticated network / public Network in Domain

Hello,

I have a strange Problem which only occurs on Windows 11 (23H2 and 24H2 tested). A Domain Client is shown as "domain.local 2 unauthenticated" and the connection profile is Public. The Devices (all Windows 11 Devices) have this problem. So i reinstalled two Clients with Win 11 23H2 and 24H2 and joined the domain (hybrid join).

The only way to get rid of the unauthenticated message was to reset all network adapters. Yet, the network is shown as public network. All of our Windows 10 Clients are working. What changed with Windows 11. I didn´t find any documentation. Thanks

    Hello,

    Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

    If NLA can't determine a connections location, it names it "Unidentified" and marks the location as Public. It chooses Public because that is most secure and you wouldn’t want anything less if the connection is on the DMZ.
