Prevent Automatic Migration of PostgreSQL Single Server to Flexible Server

Hi,

Please confirm and ensure that no automatic migration will be attempted for the following PostgreSQL Single Server instance:

We have already completed a manual migration of all databases to a new Flexible Server instance, and do not want Microsoft to retry or reschedule any automatic migration on this server.

There is still a banner showing: “The last migration attempt didn’t work or was cancelled. We’ll reschedule the automatic migration soon.” This should not happen — the server will be decommissioned once validation is complete.

Please confirm no further automated activity will be performed on this server.

Thanks, David

Unfortunately this does not appear to be the option. As per https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/postgresql/migrate/whats-happening-to-postgresql-single-server

    Q. What happens if I do not migrate or my server is not auto migrated by March 28th, 2025??

    A. Azure Database for PostgreSQL Single Server will be retired on 28 March 2025. To prevent disruptions or service loss, you must migrate to Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server before this date.

    Key Changes:

Starting 29 March 2025, you will no longer be able to create new Single Server instances.

Existing Single Server instances will be automatically migrated to the comparable Flexible Server in a phased manner—regardless of downtime requirements or application compatibility.

Single Servers using the following features will NOT be automatically migrated and will be deleted in a phased manner, resulting in data loss:

    • Customer Managed Keys(CMK)
      • Deny Public Access set to Yes
