Windows Error Reporting

I have a desktop tower that is 6 years old and the 4 or 5 months it is so slow that it can take Windows 11 5-10 minutes to come up and then the applications and programs are very slow. However, it seems after it warms up, it moves faster.

Dell told me, without accessing my system, that I needed a new Hard drive because windows couldn't handle all the upgrades.

I have pages and pages of fault buckets and application hangs.

Do I need a new system?

Thanks

    Hello Cathy B,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Given the age of your desktop and the issues you're experiencing, it might be worth considering a few options:

    1. Upgrade Components:

Replacing the hard drive with a solid-state drive (SSD) and adding more RAM can significantly improve performance. This is a cost-effective solution if the rest of your hardware is still in good condition.

    2. New System:

If your desktop is struggling with basic tasks and you have pages of fault buckets and application hangs, it might be more practical to invest in a new system. This will ensure compatibility with the latest software and provide a smoother user experience.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Daisy Zhou
